Pumpkin Chai Spice Scones

Pumpkin Chai Spice Scones

There's something about the first cool breeze of fall that makes us crave cozy mornings, warm ovens, and just a little extra spice. This Pumpkin Chai Spice Scones recipe comes from the_chubby_home_chef, who took our Pumpkin Spice tea powder blend and turned it into a delicious bake. These scones are soft, buttery, and filled with the cozy flavors of cinnamon, clove, and nutmeg.

Whether you're sipping chai in a poofy armchair or setting up for a slow Saturday brunch, these scones make every bite taste like fall.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 3 tsp Midwest Chai's Pumpkin Spice tea powder blend
  • 1/2 stick salted butter, cold
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream (+ more as needed, 1 tbsp at a time)

Recipe:

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Mix dry ingredients, except for the brown sugar.
  3. Cut cold butter into your dry ingredients and combine until crumbly.
  4. Add the brown sugar, vanilla, and cream. Mix gently until a dough forms. Feel free to add more cream if the mixture is too dry!
  5. Form the dough into a disk about 1 1/2 inches thick and cut into 6 triangles.
  6. Bake for 18-22 minutes, or until golden brown.
  7. Enjoy! Drizzle some maple cream or vanilla glaze over these scones or slice up some pears or apples, toss with cinnamon and brown sugar and roast until caramelized for a delicious pairing.

Ok. I'm obsessed. I think you will be too!

When the days get shorter and the air gets cooler, there's nothing better than chai-infused scones, straight from the oven.
